Thee Sinseers

On 23 September 2026 Thee Sinseers will play at TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht. The band from East Los Angeles is rooted in the Chicano and lowrider soul of Southern California, with singer-songwriter-producer Joey Quiñones at its core. Thee Sinseers operate as a flexible collective built around a tight rhythm section, melodic horn arrangements and prominent backing vocals. Their sound ranges from slow, sweet soul and doo‑wop ballads to mid‑tempo rhythm-and-blues, with songs based on simple structures, clear melodies and arrangements that nod to the soul productions of the 1960s and ’70s without becoming mere pastiche.

In the late 2010s the group made its mark with a series of singles on Penrose, the sister label of Colemine Records. Their first album, Sinseerly Yours, followed in 2024 on Colemine: a record that sums up their palette, from intimate ballads to slightly more driving tracks. On stage their focus is compact grooves, gentle harmonies and horn lines that carry the songs, with Quiñones’s voice as the guiding thread. In Utrecht Thee Sinseers will present their contemporary take on classic soul, performing material from the album alongside songs from their Penrose period.
