Info

Walter Trout returns to London on 18 October 2026 at Islington Assembly Hall. For over five decades, the US guitarist and singer has carried the electric blues-rock torch, shaped by Chicago blues and 60s rock. First a sideman in Los Angeles, then a member of Canned Heat and John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, he launched his solo path with the Walter Trout Band and the 1989 album Life in the Jungle. On stage, his playing favors long, melodic lines, a distinctive, grainy tone and a grounded groove, while his voice porte the marks of experience without losing clarity.

His 2010s records Blues for the Modern Daze, The Blues Came Callin’, Battle Scars and We’re All in This Together deepen that writing with autobiographical threads. This date reconnects him with that catalogue: originals alongside nods to standards, room for slow-burn ballads and tougher riffs, and the give-and-take of a tight band. A focused blues set that puts songs and feel first, carried by a musician whose guitar speaks plainly and whose stories hit close to the bone.
