Dead Calm plays The Garage, London on 12 September 2026. The project from Irish musician Liam McCay, raised in County Donegal, channels his slowcore and indie rock leanings into unhurried tempos, hushed guitars and stripped-back writing. Known online under several aliases, including Sign Crushes Motorist and Take Care, McCay keeps things low-key and releases music at his own pace, favouring a personal, DIY way of working. He started on the fiddle before switching to guitar during the pandemic, a move that shaped his home‑recorded sound and intimate, diaristic tone. On stage, the set leans into the Dead Calm catalogue, from Accept (2023) through Keep Moving (2025), tying together threads that run across his different monikers. Special guests are along for the night.
