Garage Republic Festival 2026 lands at Project House, Leeds, on 20 June 2026 with a focus on the voices and rhythms that shaped UK garage. Sweet Female Attitude brings the vocal side of the sound to the front. Born in Manchester and driven today by Leanne Brown, the project blends dance, electronic textures and 2-step around direct, melodic hooks. Flowers stands as a touchstone, alongside 8 Days a Week, DJ Play It and Don’t Tell Me, with later collaborations marking a steady return to the scene.
Artful Dodger carries the 2-step formula that bridged the underground and the mainstream. First known as the studio duo behind Re-Rewind, Movin’ Too Fast, Woman Trouble and Please Don’t Turn Me On, the name continues on stage in a DJ-and-MC format with MC Alistair and DJ Dave Low. Expect a set that connects classic vocals, broken rhythms and the house and R&B inflections that defined a moment.
On a darker edge, US dubstep artist Severe adds weight and low-end swing, widening the bass palette for the night. From vocal-led garage to sub-heavy cuts, the lineup sketches a clear link between the roots of late-90s UKG and its current echoes, all under one roof at Project House.
