Info
On 14 June 2026 at the Royal Festival Hall in London, Kamasi Washington brings Fearless Movement to the stage, leading an eight-piece band through music from his 2024 album. The Los Angeles born saxophonist, composer and bandleader has built a body of work that includes The Epic, Harmony of Difference, first created for the 2017 Whitney Biennial, and Heaven and Earth, projects that have carried his sound far beyond the jazz circuit.
A multi-instrumentalist shaped by the West Coast scene, he blends modal and spiritual jazz with soul, funk and orchestral colors, writing for the collective while leaving space for improvisation. His work extends across collaborations and screen music: co-founder of Dinner Party, contributor and co-writer alongside Kendrick Lamar, collaborator with Herbie Hancock and Florence + The Machine, and composer of the score for the Michelle Obama documentary Becoming.
On stage, the set centers on Fearless Movement, unfolding through grooves, long-form themes and close-knit ensemble interplay from a band built for momentum and space.
