Info
Detroit’s Electric Six bring their cocktail of alternative rock, disco pulse and new wave bite to The Queen’s Hall in Edinburgh on 28 November 2026. Formed in 1996 and steered by singer Dick Valentine, the group first broke through with Danger! High Voltage and Gay Bar before pinning down its formula on Fire (2003): sharp choruses, danceable rhythms and a dry sense of humor. The albums that followed — from Señor Smoke and Switzerland to Turquoise (2023) — keep that balance between garage grit, glam sheen, synth grooves and hard‑rock crunch, with a revolving cast around Valentine shaping the sound without blunting its edge. On stage, Electric Six lean into characters and tongue‑in‑cheek narratives while driving songs built to move a room. Sets draw across the catalogue, pairing the early hits with newer cuts, toggling from jagged riffs to neon funk, pogo beats to four‑to‑the‑floor. It’s a show built on collision: rock energy meeting club pulse, satire rubbing against straight‑ahead hooks — the Detroit thread running through it all.
