Darren Kiely

On 26 September 2026 at Union Chapel in London, Irish singer-songwriter Darren Kiely steps on stage with a pop-folk set anchored in clear melodies and acoustic textures. Raised in County Cork on tin whistle and fiddle before adding guitar, he writes songs that sit between contemporary folk-pop and the pulse of Irish traditional music, with a direct, unvarnished voice and storytelling at the core.

Kiely began singing in 2019 after years immersed in the traditional repertoire, then moved to New York in 2022 to develop his own material. Since then he has released singles including How Could You Love Me, Ella, Time To Leave and Mom & Dad, exploring intimate narratives, family ties and turning points. Live, he leans on guitar and fiddle, moving from hushed ballads to steady, rhythmic passages, drawing a line between Celtic roots and recent American folk.
