Electric Six

Electric Six from Detroit will play Metropool in Enschede on 20 November 2026. The band started in the late 1990s as The Wildbunch and soon found its own mix of alternative rock, garage, hard rock, new wave, disco and funk. Their breakthrough came in the early 2000s with “Danger! High Voltage” and “Gay Bar,” after which the album Fire (2003) sharpened the recipe: driving rhythms, angular guitars, synth hooks and a wink that’s never far away. Singer Dick Valentine has been the pivot since the beginning, surrounded by a lineup that has changed over the years.

On stage it’s all about energy and friction: guitar and synth collide in a way that fuels both the dancefloor and the mosh pit. The set reaches generously into their catalogue, from “Señor Smoke” and “Switzerland” to more recent material like Turquoise (2023), with choruses that stick and propulsive grooves. Electric Six love unexpected twists, switching effortlessly between glam accents, tight rhythms and a dry sense of humour. In Enschede all of that comes together in a compact, direct show that works best when you’re not standing still.
