We Are Scientists

We Are Scientists bring two decades of sharp, melodic indie rock to Concorde 2 in Brighton on 23 July 2026. Formed in California and based in New York, the duo of Keith Murray and Chris Cain have shaped a catalogue that moves between taut post-punk pulse and power-pop efficiency, anchored by concise songwriting and a taste for clean, immediate hooks. On stage, their guitar-bass core stays lean and tense, shifting from brisk, hooky bursts to fuller, head-down drive, with live drums locking the groove.

The set draws a line from early favourites on With Love and Squalor to the sleek turns of Brain Thrust Mastery and Barbara, then through TV en Français, Helter Seltzer and Megaplex, up to the recent Huffy, Lobes and 2025’s Qualifying Miles. Across it all, the band keeps the edges crisp without losing their original spark, balancing wiry riffs, prominent basslines and choruses that stick. Murray’s vocal lines cut through over chiming guitars; Cain’s bass steers the momentum. A direct, economical show built around movement and melody.
