Hard-Fi

Hard-Fi bring their razor-edged indie rock to O2 Ritz Manchester on 5 December 2026. Formed in 2003 in Staines-upon-Thames, Richard Archer, Ross Phillips, Kai Stephens and Steve Kemp mêle sharp guitars with soul- and dance-leaning rhythms, plus flashes of dub and ska. Their writing zeros in on suburban life — work, weekends, social strain — with a direct, everyday tone. The band broke through with Stars of CCTV (2005), a debut marked by DIY grit and concrete details, then widened the frame on Once Upon a Time in the West (2007) before opening up to brighter pop textures and electronic pulses on Killer Sounds (2011). After a hiatus and a 2014 best-of, Hard-Fi regrouped in 2022, hit the road again and released Don’t Go Making Plans in 2024, an EP that reconnects their hooks to that street-level perspective. On stage, they stitch older anthems to recent material, keeping the groove taut and the message clear — a snapshot of modern British rock rooted in everyday stories, played straight and tight in Manchester.
