Deftones return to Scotland with a headlining date at the Royal Highland Centre in Ingliston on 27 August 2026. Formed in Sacramento in 1988, the band has long navigated a line between weight and nuance, pairing Stephen Carpenter’s guitar work with keyboards and samples from Frank Delgado, Abe Cunningham’s drumming and the elastic presence of Sergio Vega on bass. Across albums from Adrenaline and Around the Fur to White Pony, Diamond Eyes and Koi No Yokan, they’ve shaped a sound that shifts from serrated riffs to hazy atmospheres, carried by Chino Moreno’s voice moving from whisper to roar. On stage, that range becomes the thread of a set that spans their catalogue and leans into dynamics rather than sheer volume.
Joining them, IDLES bring their Bristol-bred take on post-punk, built on Joe Talbot’s direct vocals, a locked-in rhythm section and twin guitars that swing from tight repetition to sharp bursts. Since Brutalism, the band has pushed their writing through Joy as an Act of Resistance, Ultra Mono, Crawler and TANGK, opening their grit to more melodic turns without losing intensity. Live, their songs land like chants and release valves, turning collective energy into a tight, physical performance that keeps the focus on groove and voice.
