Courtney Barnett brings her narrative-driven indie rock to Rock City, Nottingham, on 16 October 2026. The Sydney-born, Melbourne-based songwriter built her name on vivid everyday scenes, a conversational delivery and melodic, fuzz-edged guitar lines. From the early EPs gathered as The Double EP: A Sea of Split Peas to her first album Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit, she has shaped a sound that threads garage grit through folk clarity. She widened the frame with Lotta Sea Lice, her 2017 collaboration with Kurt Vile, pushed into a denser rock territory on Tell Me How You Really Feel in 2018, then pared things back on 2021’s Things Take Time, Take Time.

On stage, Barnett plays in a tight electric setup that keeps the songs upfront: unhurried storytelling, sharp dynamics, and guitar work that favors feel over flash. Expect a set that ranges across her catalogue, moving from punchy riffs to quieter corners without losing her plainspoken tone.
