Florence Road

Florence Road hit Thekla on 20 May 2026, bringing taut, unvarnished indie rock from Bray, County Wicklow. The four-piece — Lily Aron, Emma Brandon, Ailbhe Barry and Hannah Kelly — grew up together, and that closeness runs through songs that balance nervous energy with open-hearted vulnerability. Led by Lily at the mic, they write plainly about anxiety and the push-pull of early adulthood, folding grunge grit and alt-pop melody into lean indie frameworks.

In 2025 they dropped Fall Back, a first mixtape that fixed their palette: quiet–loud dynamics, wiry guitars, close harmonies and hooks that land without gloss. Tracks like Heavy and Caterpillar have become calling cards, backed by a streak of homemade videos and attention from outlets like NME, Rolling Stone and Clash. On stage, Florence Road keep it direct and physical, favouring slow-burn tension that snaps into release. At Thekla, they’ll build a set around Fall Back with newer material in tow, shifting from hushed confessions to sharper surges, always keeping melody at the centre.
