Tame Impala

Info

Tame Impala, the studio project of Australian musician Kevin Parker, brings its psych-pop universe to Birmingham on 9 May 2026 at Utilita Arena Birmingham. Since 2008, Parker has shaped a distinct blend of swirling guitars, analog synths and steady motorik rhythm, moving from the fuzz-driven energy of Innerspeaker and Lonerism to the sleek grooves of Currents and the expansive textures of The Slow Rush. On stage he expands these tracks with long builds and tight breaks, letting the basslines breathe and the percussion push forward while his falsetto floats above.

Backed by a sharp live band, the set often shifts from hypnotic jams to slow-bloom ballads, threading fan favourites like Elephant, Feels Like We Only Go Backwards, The Less I Know The Better and Let It Happen with newer cuts. The production pairs dense drums and phased keys with a light show and projections that mirror the music’s loops and swells, giving the songs extra depth without losing their pulse. A straight-up dive into Tame Impala’s catalogue, played loud and detailed, in a venue built for big sound.
