Yonaka

Brighton’s Yonaka land in Belfast on 29 September 2026 for a set at Limelight, 17 Ormeau Avenue. Fronted by Theresa Jarvis, with George Werbrouck-Edwards on guitar, Alex Crosby on bass and keys, and Robert Mason on drums, the quartet blends alt-rock bite with pop instincts and a touch of punk tension. Big riffs and tight grooves support lyrics that tackle self-doubt, resolve and mental health, unifying the threads heard on their debut Don’t Wait ’Til Tomorrow, the Seize The Power mixtape and the Welcome To My House EP.

On stage, Jarvis’s vocals shift from confessional to abrasive while the band locks into beats shaded by modern pop and hip-hop, giving choruses a direct, catchy pull without sanding off the edges. Newer cuts sit alongside early favourites from the Heavy, Teach Me To Fight and Creature eras, often toughened live with heavier guitars and elastic rhythms. Expect a set that swings between release and tension, hooks and noise, delivered up close at Limelight, Belfast.
