Wunderhorse

Wunderhorse bring their set to Custom House Square in Belfast on 25 August 2026. Led by songwriter Jacob Slater, the project emerged after the end of Dead Pretties and quickly became a four-piece with Harry Fowler on guitar, Jamie Staples on drums and Seb Byford on bass. The band plays a clear, guitar-led strain of British rock that draws on indie, grunge and garage: tight structures, hook-led melodies, and a vocal delivery that keeps a raw edge without losing clarity.

Their debut album, Cub (2022), laid out that direct approach, while Midas (2024), recorded with Craig Silvey, widens the palette without blurring the lines. On stage, these songs gain drive and space, with riffs up front and a rhythm section that keeps the tension steady. Years on the road alongside Fontaines D.C., Pixies, Foals, Sam Fender and Declan McKenna, plus a stop at Glastonbury in 2023, feed into a live show that’s compact and song-focused.

In Belfast, expect a set that threads through both records and newer material, moving from taut, slow-burners to punchier cuts with a straightforward, front-facing energy. No excess, just the essentials: guitars, dynamics and choruses built to carry.
