Osees land at The Leeds Irish Centre on 14 July 2026 with a fresh live setup steered by John Dwyer’s latest pivot. No guitar, no keys: four players lined across the front, drum sticks in hand, hammering Roland SPD-SX samplers loaded with single-synth tones stretched across three octaves. The result is a taut, percussive charge that leans into raw tape aesthetics from cassette demos and 8-track recording. A tenor and baritone sax section fattens the mix with reedy, bell-like colors, pushing the band toward a brass-tinged, punked-out swing that nods to Dexy’s Midnight Runners, Von LMO, The Flesh Eaters and the Screamers. Hooks surface and sink under heavier passages; riffs stay blunt while the lyrics cut sharper, lifted from overheard lines about holding it together, laughing it off, or just saying WTF. It’s lean, physical and a bit sci‑fi at the edges, all repetition and momentum, built for sweat and forward motion.
