Stephen Wilson Jr. brings his Gary the Torch Tour to O2 Academy Glasgow on 20 October 2026. Raised in southern Indiana and now Nashville-based, the singer-songwriter first came up as singer-guitarist in rock outfit AutoVaughn before drifting toward a lean blend of alternative country, acoustic folk and rock grit. A rough-grained voice and a storyteller’s pen anchor songs about family, memory and the tension between provincial roots and city life.
On stage, he shifts from quiet, confessional pieces to more electric, full-band surges, threading grunge-tinged textures through uncluttered melodies. The set draws heavily from his debut album søn of dad, alongside recent singles. Acoustic textures, close-up lyrics and unhurried dynamics shape a show that keeps the focus on the song.
