Kingfishr

Kingfishr bring their Irish folk-leaning indie to O2 Academy Glasgow on 25 May 2026. Formed in Limerick during their university years, the trio pairs singer-guitarist Eddie Keogh with bandmates McGoo and Fitz. On stage, they lean into close-knit harmonies, acoustic guitars and steady percussion, moving from hushed verses to slow-blooming refrains. Their writing circles landscapes, family ties and the awkward steps into adulthood, carried by clear melodies and an unvarnished delivery.

Singles like Flowers-Fire and Anyway sketched the blueprint: melodic folk at the core, nudged by alternative rock and indie-pop touches, with choruses that rise without tipping into excess. Built gig by gig across Ireland and the UK, their live set keeps a balance between intimacy and pulse, favouring patient builds, grounded rhythms and vocals pushed to the front. At O2 Academy Glasgow, that approach scales up without losing the stripped-back feel that defines the project.
