Info
On 25 May 2026 at Royal Albert Hall, London, Kumar Sanu brings decades of Hindi film melodies to the stage. Born in Kolkata and trained in classical music and ghazals, he rose in Mumbai at the turn of the 1990s as a playback singer, lending his voice to soundtracks that reached far beyond cinema halls. His clear diction and taste for long, ornamented lines carried both romantic ballads and more rhythmic numbers, from Aashiqui to Saajan, Deewana, Baazigar and 1942: A Love Story. Across those years he received five consecutive Filmfare Awards for Best Male Playback Singer, and continued to record in several Indian languages while performing around the world.
This concert revisits the songs that marked that period and later favorites, drawn from collaborations with leading Bollywood composers. Between tender refrains and dancefloor-ready hooks, Sanu’s set traces three decades of Hindi popular cinema through the voice that helped define its soundtracks. A rare chance to hear these pieces live in a venue known for its acoustics, with a focus on the melodies and emotions that have accompanied so many on-screen stories.
