On May 27, 2026 at The Cluny, Newcastle upon Tyne, Patrick Sweany steps out for a rare solo acoustic set. The Ohio-born, East Nashville mainstay has spent more than two decades bending blues, soul and rock’n’roll into lean, guitar-led songs; here it’s just voice and six strings, up close.

In the years since Ancient Noise, Sweany lived through a long pause, restarted his Blue Monday nights with The Tiger Beats and launched the soul‑funk outfit SUPER FELON, before writing again with a back-to-basics approach. Home recordings on tape set the tone, then live, no‑headphones sessions with Nashville collaborators like JD Simo and McKinley James helped shape raw, direct new songs about running out of time, getting older and pushing through.

Solo, he pares everything to the core: fingerpicked riffs, slide lines, sturdy grooves under the thumb, and a grainy tenor carrying the melody. Expect reworked pieces from across his catalog alongside new material marked by 50s/60s blues phrasing and 70s soul colors.
