Info
On 21 November 2026 at Utilita Arena Birmingham, Courteeners bring their Manchester-forged indie rock to a big-room setting. Formed in 2006 around singer and songwriter Liam Fray, with Michael Campbell, Daniel Moores and long-time collaborator Joe Cross, the band has moved from early club buzz to a catalogue that traces a clean line from post-Britpop grit to sleeker, synth-brushed textures. Live, that mix keeps the focus on Fray’s writing: direct, melodic, and built around stories that stick.
Their set tends to sweep across the albums: the sharp edges of St. Jude and Falcon, the streamlined turn of Anna, the expansive colours of Concrete Love and Mapping the Rendezvous, through to the punchier contours of More. Again. Forever. and the recent Pink Cactus Café. The guitars still bite, the rhythms stay tight, and the newer keys give space without softening the core.
There’s a clear thread back to Manchester’s song tradition—tuneful, unshowy, a little wry—carried by choruses that land without fuss. In Birmingham, expect a pacey run that balances early staples with newer cuts, scaled for the arena but rooted in the immediacy of the grassroots rooms where they started.
