Codefendants

On 15 October 2026 at The Palais in Nottingham, Codefendants bring their self‑described crime wave: a lean splice of punk grit, alternative hip hop rhythms and shadowy pop melodies. Formed by rapper-songwriter Ceschi Ramos, vocalist Sam King (Get Dead) and Fat Mike (NOFX), the trio plays on contrast and balance — serrated guitars against elastic beats, spoken passages against tuneful, often melancholic hooks.

On stage, the set shifts with intent: slow-burn ballads give way to ska-tinged detours, alt-rock swings and rap-forward cuts, all anchored by the back-and-forth between Ramos and King. Their 2023 album This Is Crime Wave set the framework, but live they stretch the songs, trade lines, slip in narrative bridges and leave space for stripped moments that tilt the mood without breaking momentum. The punk backbone remains clear throughout, connecting the project to independent punk circuits as much as to DIY hip hop communities. Codefendants arrive with a show built for movement and switch-ups, where storytelling, rhythm and tension sit side by side.
