Squeeze headline Plymouth Arena in Plymouth on 1 December 2026, joined by very special guest Billy Bragg. A meeting of sharp British songwriting, from new wave pop tales to folk with bite.
Squeeze, driven since 1974 by the writing pair Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook, ontinue to balance crisp melodies with everyday storytelling. Their set threads the nervy swing of the early years with the more melodic turns that followed, drawing on songs like Take Me I’m Yours, Cool for Cats and Up the Junction, as well as later chapters from East Side Story to Cradle to the Grave and The Knowledge. On stage, harmonies, guitar lines and tightly sketched lyrics take center field, with arrangements that slip from wiry new wave to agile pop without losing their bite.
Billy Bragg opens with electric guitar, plain-spoken delivery and songs that move between social observation and tender confession. From the stripped beginnings of Life’s a Riot with Spy vs Spy and Talking with the Taxman about Poetry to the Woody Guthrie project Mermaid Avenue made with Wilco, up to recent work The Million Things That Never Happened, he brings a direct, narrative voice built for the live room.
