Gabrielle Aplin

Gabrielle Aplin brings her folk-pop roots and refined pop craft to O2 Institute Birmingham on 9 May 2026. Born in Bath and raised in Wiltshire, she first built a following with acoustic covers and originals, releasing early EPs on her own Never Fade Records before stepping onto a wider stage with English Rain in 2013 and its melody-led songwriting, including a celebrated take on The Power of Love. Light Up the Dark (2015) broadened her palette toward indie-pop, Dear Happy (2020) returned to a more introspective register, and Phosphorescent (2023) wove intimate ballads with discreet electronic touches.

On stage, Aplin centres voice, piano and guitar, keeping arrangements clear and direct to let the songs breathe. Her live sets move through catalogue highlights, from stripped-back early pieces to more expansive recent tracks, carried by careful writing and a feel for dynamics. A show that traces her journey from DIY beginnings to a mature pop sensibility, without losing the intimacy that has defined her across UK and European tours.
