The Temperance Movement

The Temperance Movement bring their sharp-cut blues rock back to Glasgow on 19 November 2026 at Barrowland Ballroom. Formed in 2011 around Scottish frontman Phil Campbell with guitarists Luke Potashnick and Paul Sayer and bassist Nick Fyffe, the band writes in a direct, no-fuss vein: classic British rock roots, a touch of soul, and a hard-rock tension that never overreaches. Their return to the stage with Campbell and Potashnick back alongside Sayer, Fyffe and drummer Simon Lea reconnects with the chemistry that powered their early releases.

On stage, the band leans on interplay and guitar-driven dynamics, drawing from the Pride EP (2012), their self-titled debut (2013), White Bear (2016) and A Deeper Cut (2018). Their past lives with acts like Jamiroquai, Ray Davies, The Waterboys, White Buffalo or Feeder surface in a tight, groove-led approach where the rhythm section anchors songs built to hit live. After opening for The Rolling Stones in 2014 and touring the US with Blackberry Smoke, The Temperance Movement have honed a set that moves from rough-edged stompers to more soulful turns without lapsing into nostalgia. Here, it’s the band unit first: riffs, pulse, and Campbell’s grain leading the charge.
