Info
On 20 November 2026 at New Century in Manchester, Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats bring their doom-laced, psych-tinged heavy rock to the stage. Formed in Cambridge around singer-guitarist Kevin Starrs, the band builds slow, fuzz-drenched riffs and melodic vocal harmonies into shadowy atmospheres that nod to late-60s garage and cult horror cinema. From the scarce first LP Vol. 1 (2010) to Blood Lust (2011) which set them firmly on the doom and stoner map, they’ve traced a line through the more conceptual Mind Control (2013), the noir-stained The Night Creeper (2015), and the desolate hues of Wasteland (2018). With Nell’ Ora Blu (2024), they push their cinematic streak further, folding retro grit into expansive storytelling.
The Wytches open with a strain of garage, surf and psych filtered through a post-punk edge. Started in 2011 and now revolving around Kristian Bell, Daniel Rumsey, Mark Breed and Bhavin Thaker, the group sharpens abrasive guitars and nervy rhythms into compact songs with a clear, melodic darkness. Early singles paved the way to Annabel Dream Reader (2014) and All Your Happy Life (2016), before a DIY turn on Three Mile Ditch (2020) and the continued run of Our Guest Can’t Be Named (2023), plus the EPs Replica (2024) and Talking Machine (2025). A taut, grainy counterpoint to the headliner’s slow-burn weight.
