Skindred: « You Got This Tour »

Skindred rolls into the You Got This Tour with its hybrid of metal weight and Caribbean pulse sharpened for the stage. Born in Newport in 1998 in the wake of Dub War, the band threads thick guitar riffs with reggae and dancehall rhythms, flipping into hip-hop cadences and hooky refrains. Benji Webbe steers it all, shifting from toast to roar, while Mikey Demus drives the guitars and Arya Goggin anchors the drums, with Daniel Pugsley long at the low end.

Live, the set digs back to Babylon and Roots Rock Riot, pushes through Union Black and Kill the Power, and lands on Smile, stacking grooves, tempo changes and off-beat accents without losing bite. The show leans on bounce as much as crunch, with breaks built for call-and-response and crowd movement. Years spent crossing metal bills and alternative rock stages have shaped a flow that keeps the room moving from first drop to last chorus.
