Little Barrie

Little Barrie returns to Glasgow on 23 September 2026 at Stereo. Led by guitarist and singer Barrie Cadogan, the band folds garage bite, psych currents, rhythm and blues, funk and soul into tight, groove-driven songs where the vocals stay lean and the guitar lines carry the narrative. Since its late‑90s start and early singles for Stark Reality, Little Barrie has moved from the dry directness of We Are Little Barrie and Stand Your Ground toward the blues‑tinged textures of King of the Waves and Shadow. After the passing of drummer Virgil Howe in 2017, Cadogan and bassist Lewis Wharton kept the project alive with Malcolm Catto under the banner Little Barrie & Malcolm Catto (including Quatermass Seven and Electric War), then brought it back to its original name with Gravity Freeze in 2024. On stage, the band leans on close-knit interplay, clipped rhythms and taut grooves, letting songs stretch just enough to reveal their layers. Expect a set that bridges British rock roots with rougher American echoes, older cuts rubbing shoulders with new material.
