The Stylistics

The Stylistics bring the Philadelphia soul songbook to Bournemouth on 15 November 2026 at Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre. Formed in 1968 from neighborhood groups the Monarchs and the Percussions, the band shaped a supple blend of orchestral soul, soft R&B and close-harmony pop that marked the early 70s. Guided in the studio by Thom Bell with lyrics by Linda Creed, they crafted instantly recognizable melodies and a floating falsetto lead, heard on Stop, Look, Listen, You Are Everything, Betcha by Golly, Wow, People Make the World Go Round and You Make Me Feel Brand New.

Today, original members Airrion Love and Herb Murrell keep the harmonies at the center, joined by Jason Sharp. On stage, the group revisits the classic albums The Stylistics, Round 2, Rockin’ Roll Baby and Let’s Put It All Together, and touches on the lighter, late-70s sides shaped with Hugo & Luigi and Van McCoy. A warm, polished set, faithful to the arrangements while letting the voices breathe, with sing-along moments woven through a catalog that still feels effortless.
