Christopher Cross

Christopher Cross, the San Antonio born singer songwriter who helped shape the smooth, melodic side of late 70s soft rock, brings his catalog to Ulster Hall, Belfast, on May 25, 2026. His 1979 self titled debut introduced Ride Like the Wind and Sailing and earned multiple Grammy Awards in 1981, setting a path he has followed with consistency: west coast pop, light jazz touches and vocal harmonies carried by clear melodies. The early 80s brought Another Page and the Arthur theme co written with Burt Bacharach and Carole Bayer Sager; later albums such as Back of My Mind and Rendezvous kept the focus on crafted song structures, before Walking in Avalon opened a new chapter that continued with Doctor Faith, Secret Ladder and Take Me As I Am. On stage, Cross favors clarity over excess, with understated guitar work, warm vocals and arrangements that keep the song at the center.
