Info

On 29 June 2026 at Barrowland Ballroom in Glasgow, Bilmuri brings a set that threads post-hardcore grit, emo-pop hooks and light pop-rock inflections. Led by US musician Johnny Franck (ex-Attack Attack!), the project shifts from solo studio craft to a rotating live band, folding in electronic flashes and, at times, brass arrangements that give the songs extra contours. Built on a steady run of short, independent releases — from Rich Sips and Eggy Pocket to Goblin Hours and American Motor Sports — Bilmuri pushes toward more sung, melody-first writing, mixing internet-literate references with introspective themes. The live moment leans on sharp dynamics, heavy-to-clean vocals and refrains that hang on without tipping into excess.

Sharing the night, Melbourne’s Thornhill arrives with a metalcore base driven by groove and darker atmospheres. Early EPs 13 and Butterfly set the frame; debut album The Dark Pool nudged their sound into a modern, slightly progressive zone, while Heroine moved toward an alternative feel, nodding to 90s/00s rock and nu metal with thicker textures and more sculpted vocal lines. On stage, the band plays the pull between weight and space, stitching dense guitars to melodic passages that open the sound rather than soften it. Together, they sketch two angles on contemporary heavy music, from genre-blurring hooks to shadowed grooves.
