Bleachers

Bleachers, the project steered by songwriter and producer Jack Antonoff, brings its blend of indie pop, alternative rock and 80s-tinged synth textures to O2 Academy Birmingham on 28 November 2026. Born between New Jersey and New York, the band grew from a studio venture into a full live outfit, with brass and backing vocals giving the songs a physical, collective feel on stage.

Across Strange Desire (2014) and Gone Now (2017), Antonoff shaped a writing style rooted in suburbia, memory and family. Take the Sadness Out of Saturday Night (2021) pushed toward heartland rock and more stripped ballads, with appearances from Bruce Springsteen and Lana Del Rey. The self‑titled Bleachers (2024) keeps that balance between modern pop production and analog warmth, linking catchy structures to grainier textures.

Live, Bleachers stretch the catalogue rather than just reproduce it: horns, harmonies and a tight rhythm section carry the set from quiet corners to more driving moments, with arrangements that highlight dynamics and the chorus work that runs through the project.
