Chalk

Chalk land at Limelight, Belfast, on 16 May 2026 with a post-punk built for both dark rooms and bright strobes. The Belfast duo of Ross Cullen and Benedict Goddard — musicians and filmmakers — fuse abrasive guitars, industrial shades and electronic textures into a sound driven by tight, techno-leaning and drum’n’bass pulses. On stage, spoken-sung lines brush against cold wave influences while the visuals reflect their film background, giving the set a clear, cinematic edge without losing the raw cut of a live band.

Formed in the early 2020s, Chalk carved their path across the Irish and UK alternative circuit before touring further afield. Their debut EP, Conditions (2023), set the framework: tense rhythms, saturated riffs, a club-adjacent intensity anchored in punk energy. In 2025, the project expanded across UK and European dates and stepped onto festival bills such as Glastonbury and Bilbao BBK Live. Along the way, their singles and audiovisual pieces found support from outlets including The Independent, NME, Rolling Stone UK, Rough Trade, BBC 6 Music and KEXP. At Limelight, expect a focused, physical live moment where industrial grit meets dancefloor momentum.
