Alain Chamfort

On 18 February 2027 Alain Chamfort will perform at the W-halll Auditorium in Woluwe-Saint-Pierre, Belgium. A pianist by training, he emerged in the 1960s in yéyé bands before Claude François steered him toward a solo career. In the 1970s his meeting with Serge Gainsbourg proved decisive for his songwriting and sound. Since then Chamfort has built a coherent career within the French chanson: collaborations alternating with personal projects, always taking care with the words and a melodic sensibility that evokes recognition.
