Somewhere between Berghain and exit 3 toward the DIY megastore, the French electropunk duo invents a 2.0 despair that drives you to the brink until the crash. Lyrics that are abrasive or consoling like free hugs, sonic craftsmanship at the crossroads of code and lace: a mirror of our times, Par.Sek remixes every contradiction.

A singular figure of the new Francophone scene, Yolande Bashing blends French pop song, bursts of techno and punk mantras into a bittersweet trance. Their dissonant approach summons Claude François and Jean-Pierre Pernaut to the sad fête of a forgotten PMU, caught between restrained rage and biting clarity. There’s a hint of Bertrand Belin who’s listened to too much Stromae, a taste for the diagonal of emptiness, a poetry of modern boredom that keeps dancing anyway. From Les Inouïs at the Printemps de Bourges in 2019 to an appearance on France Inter (Côté Club), the duo performs live with dissonant synths, dancefloor kicks and punk energy. Festivals and venues across France and beyond (Les Nuits Secrètes, Reeperbahn, Petit Bain, Aéronef…) have hosted this act. With their new EP Territoire, Yolande Bashing continues their celebration of contemporary melancholy. Between lucidity and melody, it paints a portrait of the anti-heroes of a world going in circles.
