Autechre

Autechre bring their live set to Vicar Street in Dublin on 20 October 2026. Formed in Rochdale, Sean Booth and Rob Brown have been working at the edges of electronic music since the early 90s on Warp. From Incunabula and Amber’s ambient-laced grids to the mechanical contours of Tri Repetae and Chiastic Slide, their path shifts from rhythm and melody toward systems, texture and process. LP5 and Confield push deconstruction and unstable meters; Draft 7.30 and Untilted tighten the angles. Later, Quaristice opens the form into modular sequences, followed by Oversteps and Exai’s evolving architectures, then the extended elseq and NTS Sessions testing near-continuous flow. In 2020, SIGN and PLUS condense that research into leaner shapes, hovering between layered harmonies and intricate percussion.

On stage, Autechre keep it focused: minimal light, no stage chatter, immersion first. The set grows from generative patterns, shifting timbres and pressure, playing the room as much as the machines. It’s a listening environment more than a spectacle, where detail, impact and space carry the narrative.
