Info
Tigercub bring their blunt-edged, melodic-heavy rock to The Workman’s Club in Dublin on 17 October 2026. Formed in Brighton in 2011 by singer-guitarist Jamie Stephen Hall and drummer James Allix, joined by bassist Jimi Wheelwright, the trio builds on contrasts: taut rhythms, thick, fuzzed guitars and breaks that open into more melodic space. A self-released debut EP in 2013 led to a run of singles and the Repressed Semantics EP in 2015, then tours with Royal Blood, Blood Red Shoes and Dilly Dally. Their first album, Abstract Figures in the Dark (2016) with Alex Newport, tightened the writing, followed by the denser, more mobile Evolve or Die EP (2017). After a pause for other projects, As Blue as Indigo (2021), co-produced with Adrian Bushby and mixed by Tom Dalgety, tilted toward introspective themes without dropping the heavy backbone. The Perfume of Decay (2023) pushed further into a tense, direct approach, wired to both contemporary UK rock and a grunge/noise lineage. On stage, those push-and-pull dynamics set the tone for a set that hits hard while staying clear and purposeful.
