On 26 May 2026, Weatherday brings their DIY-bred indie rock to The Workman’s Club in Dublin. The solo project of Swedish artist Lola (also known as Sputnik), Weatherday emerged from online communities with a sound that braids lo-fi, emo and shoegaze into restless bedroom recordings. Songs often stretch and mutate: layered, overdriven guitars rub against clipped drums and filtered vocals, with fragile motifs resurfacing after noisy detours. The writing favors abrupt transitions and purposeful imperfections, more collage than straight verse-chorus.

The self-produced debut Come In (2019) set the tone and connected Weatherday with a network of emo, noise pop and bedroom rock scenes well beyond Sweden. With Weatherglow (2022), a collaborative release with South Korean musician Asian Glow, the palette thickened toward post-rock dynamics and denser textures, widening the project’s range. In parallel, Lola’s electronic work as Lola’s Pocket PC feeds discreetly into Weatherday’s arrangements, adding new timbres without sanding off the rough edges. Live at The Workman’s Club, the set leans on tension, texture and sudden pivots—an approach that keeps the project’s DIY spirit front and center.
