Geordie Greep

Geordie Greep brings his solo project to Flucc, Vienna, on 8 July 2026. The Walthamstow-born singer, guitarist and composer emerged with black midi from the Brixton Windmill scene in 2017. As the group’s principal writer and voice on Schlagenheim, Cavalcade and Hellfire, he shaped a tense, shifting language where jagged rhythms, unstable forms and character-led lyrics meet art rock, post punk, jazz fusion and avant prog.

Following the band’s pause in 2024, Greep steps out under his own name with The New Sound, released on Rough Trade. On stage, he extends that narrative approach with intricate guitar figures, elastic tempos and arrangements that pivot between experimental rock, Latin accents, chamber-like textures and bursts of improvisation. The set foregrounds his theatrical delivery and attention to contrast, moving from clipped, percussive passages to sudden swerves and melodic asides, and tracing the characters and stories that run through his writing.
