Dub Pistols

On 23 October 2026 at the New Morning, Dub Pistols bring their genre-defying mix of dub, big beat, hip-hop and ska. Led by Barry Ashworth, the London collective forges a sound built for the live stage, where electronics and a brass section collide with heavy basslines and MC flows rooted in sound system culture. Emerging from the big beat wave of the 1990s, the band has honed its formula across albums from Point Blank to Frontline, including notable collaborations with vocalists such as Terry Hall, Rodney P and Akala.

On the bill: a set that spans their catalogue while leaving room for recent tracks and unreleased material still in the works. Between breakbeat rhythms, dub echoes and bursts approaching drum and bass, the stage becomes their playground: an MC on the mic, brass in support, guitar and keyboards driving the attack, and machines supplying the propulsion. True to their hybrid DNA, Dub Pistols connect club, reggae and punk spirit with a direct, no-frills energy designed to get the crowd moving.
