ROYA brings its electronic pop to Montréal on September 26, 2026 at Le Studio TD. Based on the Danish coast, the duo of Line Gade and Sebastian Igens shapes songs where Nordic-tinged melodies, airy vocals and a pop-house pulse meet. Before stepping forward with their own project, they spent time co-writing for others, including 6ix9ine and MNEK, a detour that sharpened their sense of hooks, structure and production detail. That background feeds a live set built on clean arrangements, vocals that float above the mix and rhythms that lean toward the dancefloor without losing an intimate edge.

The project took form after a more unsettled personal period, channelled into tracks that look inward while keeping the tempo moving. “Kinda Sad” and “Cruise” sketch out their range, from bittersweet refrains to brighter synth lines, and the newer material keeps exploring the different shades of contemporary electronic pop they’re drawn to. ROYA’s creative loop with its community also plays a role in the way themes take shape, adding a conversational layer to their songwriting.
