My New Band Believe

My New Band Believe arrives in Barcelona on November 3, 2026, at Paral·lel 62. It is the new chapter for Cameron Picton following black midi’s hiatus in 2023. More than a solo project, it operates as an open ensemble assembled according to each song and each performance. On stage, Picton recruits collaborators from the British experimental scene — such as Kiran Leonard, Caius Williams, Steve Noble and members of caroline — to expand a repertoire that moves away from the tense rock of his former band and embraces a more acoustic songwriting approach, situated between English folk, baroque pop, chamber-rock and exploratory songcraft.

The pieces advance by contrast: oblique narration, shifts in dynamics and collective arrangements that form and dissolve, with a taste for unstable structures and striking imagery. In Barcelona the set presents itself as malleable, a collective play in which each instrument finds room, between silences, attacks and choruses that ebb and flow. An intimate live performance, with space for detail and drift, that places Picton in a more stripped-down register without losing his formal curiosity.
