With their evolving blend of jazz- and country-laced punk, Opus Kink have developed a distinct sound since forming in Brighton (UK) in 2017. Known for intense live shows, they draw on a prominent horn section and a ragged, sardonic delivery. The band bears similarities to post-punk and no wave acts like The Pop Group, The Birthday Party and The Lounge Lizards, while weaving older influences such as choral, folk, country, Latin, Weimar cabaret and cruise-ship crooning into their music. Their songs address violence, evil, shame, sexual politics, anxiety and emptiness with an absurdist tone. Opus Kink perform at Bahnhof Pauli on 14 December 2026 at 18h00.
