The compositions of Colleen, the moniker of multi-instrumentalist Cécile Schott, are diverse and precise. Each of her albums is shaped by predetermined, distinctive instrumentations and parameters, including works made entirely with music boxes, pocket synthesizers, and baroque string instruments.

She will present Libres antes del final on 26 May 2026 at 18:00 at Silent Green in Berlin. The album takes up the hope and desire to be freed from unnecessary suffering and burdensome thoughts before the end of the life cycle.

Schott composed and performed Libres on the Moog Matriarch and focused the recording on a pulse-driven, vibrant energy with constant motion. She then reamped the music at Casa Montjuïc in Barcelona, which emphasizes the sense of movement. The reamping process gives the album physical presence, as carefully selected and placed microphones (including the Neumann KU100 binaural head) capture both the sound of the amplification and the acoustics of the space.

Midori Hirano

Midori Hirano is a Japanese musician, composer, and sound artist based in Berlin. Rooted in classical piano and expanded through electronics and field recordings, she creates soundscapes where acoustic intimacy meets experimental abstraction.

Her solo albums on labels such as Sonic Pieces, Daisart, and Dauw have defined her voice, while under the alias MimiCof she has explored more rhythmic and experimental territories. Over time these approaches have grown together into a unified artistic language under her own name. She has performed across Europe and collaborated with artists such as Hprizm (Anti-Pop Consortium), Ilpo Väisänen (Pan Sonic), CoH, Atsuko Hatano, Brüder Selke, and the Monika Werkstatt collective led by Gudrun Gut.

Her new solo album will be released on 20 February 2026 on Thrill Jockey.
