Anastasia Kristensen presents Bestiarium Sombre

Anastasia Kristensen marks 10 years of music production with a new major work — the album Bestiarium Sombre, set to be released this May on the Dutch label Intercept Records.

For this evening, she will present a new live set based on the album’s nine tracks. For the performance, she has invited Tessa Laroche, a French independent dancer and choreographer, to present her interpretation of Bestiarium Sombre.

During the evening, Rask will also present a new live set with experimental sounds, and Gavnlig will play a DJ set.

Anastasia Kristensen (live)
Drawing from a wide range of influences, Anastasia Kristensen blends off-grid electronics with an exploratory mixing style. Her dance-focused performances invite audiences to let go on the dance floor. Her releases on Warp’s Arcola, Turbo and Houndstooth explore a sci-fi-tinged vision of electronic music, combining dub, IDM and techno. Her new album Bestiarium Sombre is out on Intercept Records on May 8. In 2023 she founded the label absorb emit, dedicated to textured, experimental and playful dance music. Alongside her DJ career, she dedicates her time to community-driven projects that reflect her collaborative approach across the electronic music scene.

Tessa Laroche (dance performance)
With dance residencies in the United States and France, and as a dancer trained at the Alvin Ailey school, Tessa’s artistic approach fuses various dance styles, from ballet to jazz to contemporary. For this evening, Tessa has prepared a choreography, performance and her interpretation of Bestiarium Sombre.

Rask (live)
Rask, a Dane who spent part of his life in France, is a noise manipulator and sound programmer. His work can be heard on Anastasia’s label absorb emit. Rask will present a live set featuring original compositions and modular sounds.

Gavnlig (DJ)
The Danish-Icelandic producer and DJ Andrea Hildursdóttir, aka Gavnlig, combines technical finesse with a playful selection. An active figure in the scene with a broad technical understanding of music, her work can be heard across several releases on Danish and international labels.
