Edwin Raphael

Edwin Raphael will be performing on 17 May 2026 at Patronaat, Haarlem with a set that places his intimate indie folk and alternative pop at the centre. Born in India and shaped between Dubai and Montréal, he writes spare, voice-driven songs with muted guitars and atmospheric layers that lean toward dream pop. Since the mid-2010s he has self-released music and grown within Montréal’s independent scene. With the debut album Will You Think of Me Later? (2020) he explores themes such as identity, distance and memory. The collaborative EP Staring at Ceilings (2021) moves his folk toward fuller-sounding arrangements, while Warm Terracotta (2023) further opens the contemplative without abandoning the sparse approach.

On stage, Edwin alternates between stripped-down solo formats and a full band setup. His songs are given room for silence, melody and detail, with a focus on lyrics and atmosphere rather than effects. With support.
