On 30 November 2026 at Dynamo Werk 21 in Zurich, acoustic sharpness and concentrated energy collide: The Scratch, a Dublin quartet made up of former Red Enemy members, move hardcore’s hardness into an unplugged setting. Their sound draws together Irish folk melodies, punk drive and rock/metal edges: fast-strummed acoustic guitars, dry percussion and collective chants propel songs that nevertheless stay close to classic songwriting. From early DIY videos and club tours through Old Songs (2018) and The Whole Buzz (2019) to Couldn’t Give A Rats (2020), a distinctive voice emerged that they expanded with Mind Yourself (2023): more precise vocal arrangements, clear dynamic shifts and a direct, raw tone carried by the close interaction of the four musicians.
Also on the bill is DUG, a duo formed in 2023: Conor (Lorkin) O’Reilly and Jonny Pickett blend the warmth of Irish ballads with the legacy of American storytellers. Banjo and resonator guitar underpin songs in which melancholy, humour and everyday life meet. Big Sundown and Jubilee made the Grammy longlist; on Claddagh Records the duo sharpens its organic folk further — marked by tight vocal interplay and a palpable musical partnership.
