On 25 April 2027, Thirty Seconds to Mars returns to AFAS Live in Amsterdam with A Beautiful Lie vs This Is War. The band focuses on two key albums from their history: A Beautiful Lie (2006) and This Is War (2009). Jared and Shannon Leto set these eras side by side in a set that alternates between the tight, memorable hooks and lingering melodies of the former, and the broad arcs of tension and rhythmic outbursts of the latter. The show centers on vocal harmonies, rhythm and the immediate energy that works live, with moments designed for singalongs and call-and-response. Songs follow one another smoothly, with clear contrasts between intensity and breathing space. The emphasis is on the material that has defined the band on stage, performed with the tempo and dynamics of today.
