Marcus Gad

Marcus Gad will be at Frigo 16 in Nice on November 21, 2026, presenting a sober, deep roots reggae. Originally from Nouméa, he has shaped since the mid-2010s a body of work in which spirituality, Kanak culture and a connection to nature are central. On stage with his band Tribe, he stretches tempos, lays down vocal harmonies, acoustic textures and an earthy pulse heard on the album Purify. The set also draws on his collaborations with producer Tamal (Brave New World), when roots opens up to forms close to dub and downtempo, playing with silences, echoes and enveloping bass.

His clear voice carries lyrics in English and French, addressing ecological awareness, spirituality, colonial legacies and social issues, themes confirmed on Rhythm of Serenity. Between signature tracks and new versions, the live show charts a path between New Caledonia and Europe, where Rasta vibrations meet the resonances of the Pacific and Afro-Caribbean scenes. An evening to sink into a patient, collective groove that takes the time to let the sonic material speak.
